Need a good book?

After my wonderful husband got me a Kindle for Christmas, I have been reading a lot of good books lately! I thought I would share a few if you are looking for a good book to cuddle up with. Although, since I have started my long term subbing job in 2nd grade, things have been much busier. I still try to get alittle reading in as much as I can.

Always the Baker, Never the Bride by Sandra D. Bricker

Ok, you might think it is a little sad that I am still into wedding stuff. If I could have a dream job it would be a wedding planner- yet... not so much of a market for that sort of thing in Indianola..

Anyways, my favorite part about this book (besides it's light-hearted plot and characters) is that between each chapter it has a yummy recipes!

Room by Emma Donoghue

At first it was hard for me to get into this book. It is written from the perspecitve of a five year old little boy, and after you get to reading it you will find out why it is so different. A really amazing story.

The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner By Stephenie Meyer

I hadn't even heard that they made another book to add to the Twilight Series! This book is very short, but if you are a Twilight fanatic like I am, you will enjoy it.

My goal this year is to try and read 100 books. Feel free to comment and let me know some good ones you have read recently!

  1. I read the first couple of chapters of "Room" and had trouble getting into it too. I might have to try it when I finish the one I'm on. I recommend "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo"! (That's what I'm reading right now & it's a-maz-ing!)

  2. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is horribly slow it the beginning. I read the first 100 pages and gave up. But my bf read the whole series and really enjoyed them, he said I should have stuck it out.

I'm reading "The Host" by Stephanie Meyer right now and it's good so far. It's not typically the type of book I'd enjoy because it's about alien invasion of earth but she's a great author. (I loved the Twilight Series) I will have to check out "The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner"

Have you read the Hunger Games trilogy? they are amazing!

Also I read all of Chelsea Handlers books, they are not great works of literature but if you like her you'll love the books, they are hilarious!

    Happy reading :)

  3. Em- I have the first two "Girl with.." books on my Kindle, I just haven't delved into them yet. But I will definitely check them out.

Britt- I am OBSESSED with Hunger Games -finished them all in a week. I started the Host awhile ago, and didn't finish it - maybe i'll have to pick it up and try again. Karly has all the Chelsea books too and she loves em!
